CPD GUIDELINES
• ZIAAT has adopted the IFAC Handbook of the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (IESBA) and IAASB and IPSASB standards. According of the Handbook – “The maintenance of professional competence requires a continuing awareness and an understanding of relevant technical, professional and business developments. Continuing professional development enables a professional accountant to develop and maintain the capabilities to perform skilfully within the professional environment.”
• In addition, the Institute shall maintain and enhance knowledge and skills for tax professionals. This can include staying up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations, learning about new taxation software and technologies, and participating in training and educational programs. CPD is typically required for accountants, auditors and tax professionals to maintain their professional licenses or certifications because they were mandated by the Institute. CPD can take many forms, including attending workshops and seminars, participating in online courses and webinars, and engaging in self-directed learning activities.
• The CPD Guidelines provides guidance to members on how to maintain and develop relevant skills and knowledge to ensure they continue to work effectively as professionals. ZIAAT expects all members to participate in CPD programs in order to comply with the requirement of the profession. It is therefore important that all NBAA members embrace the concept of lifelong learning fully and adhere to the CPD guidelines.
